About "Gospel on the River"

The primary aim of GOTR was and still is to raise funds to aid in purchasing needed equipment for the Black River Hospital, born out of the keen eye of Carlton Brown, Managing Director of Brown & Sons' Funeral Parlour. This hospital serves a local population of approximately one hundred and eighty thousand persons ($180,000) and covers a geographical area of three hundred square miles. The hospital is the major health resource for the parish of St. Elizabeth and also assists neighbouring parishes.

For the past two years, GOTR has featured top Gospel Artists such as Kevin Downswell, George Banton, Adrian Cunningham, Keesa Peart, to name a few and in its life saving venture, an ECG Machine as well as two (2) Patient Monitors have already been purchased and donated to the hospital and has attracted over 4000 patrons. This year we aim to purchase two (2) Blood Gas Machines for the hospital.

Why Gospel, you might ask? Jamaica was and still is a highly Christian populated country. What better way to unite people, and achieve a feat such as this? A worship atmosphere and a great cause.
